Our Staff

Nate leads our efforts to quantify ecosystem services of agroforestry to validate and improve the performance of specific practices. He recently completed a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Iowa State University where his research focused on soil greenhouse gas emissions and nutrient leaching. Nate is an eager hunter and angler who enjoys free lessons in patience and humility from Wisconsin’s wildlife. He grew up in Central Illinois and spent his youth at Allerton Park where Savanna Institute runs the 4-H Memorial Camp demonstration field.
