Elderflower Retreat at Hillside Pastures

Welcome to our Retreat Center in Spring Green, WI

Elderflower is a native perennial in Wisconsin’s Driftless region where Savanna Institute runs a Retreat Center at its Spring Green Campus. Nestled just below the crest at Hillside Pastures, south of Wisconsin River, the Elderflower Retreat is a four-bedroom, modern ranch with floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-concept meeting space and kitchen. It overlooks a mature silvopasture where partner Seven Seeds Farm grazes grass-fed organic beef. Across the road is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin, a Driftless cultural treasure, and nearby, the American Players Theater. Built in 2014 by the Marquardt Family who envisioned the space as a retreat center, the house was designed by Chicago-based Wheeler Kearns Architects and constructed with primarily fir and hemlock. Some areas of the working farm are restricted, but not the beautiful walking trail up the ridge where guests can find quiet, reflective time.
