Upper Midwest Hazelnut Growers Conference

The Upper Midwest Hazelnut Development Initiative and the University of Minnesota proudly announce that the 15th Annual Upper Midwest Hazelnut Growers Conference will be held March 22-23, 2024 at The Grand Event Center in Northfield, Minnesota. 

Join growers, researchers, and other nut enthusiasts in the heart of the beautiful Cannon River Watershed for two days of lively presentations and conversations about hazelnuts. Learn about this emerging woody perennial crop and the opportunities it offers to the Midwest. Visit a hazelnut breeding planting, chat with experienced hazelnut growers and researchers, sample amazing hazelnut goodies made from locally grown hazelnuts, and share your own hazelnut story during the open mic session. 

Presentation topics will include research updates from the past year; insect pests; constituents of flavor; irrigation; industry development; and funding opportunities for hazelnut growers. 

Unlike in past years, the hazelnut conference will not include a Hazelnut 101 session. Instead, we recommend that attendees new to hazelnuts watch this 58 minute introduction to Midwest hazelnuts video before the conference and bring their unanswered questions to the conference.
