Our Staff

Katlyn serves as the Farm Field Crew Lead for Demonstration Farms in Central Illinois. Katlyn is inspired by the possibility of a lush, green, tree-filled landscape as agroforestry grows throughout the midwest. Her passion for agroforestry began in college as she pursued a BS in Conservation and Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her background as a Restoration Ecologist has prepared her to mindfully steward the land in a way that provides suitable habitat for local and migratory wildlife and sustainable food options for people. When Katlyn visits her hometown in Milwaukee, WI for some brats and cheese curds she likes to imagine a future where, instead of corn and soy fields for most of the drive, the scenery includes lots of fruit and nut trees! She’s looking forward to completing some ecological monitoring on our demonstration farms this season and sharing those observations with her field crew. When Katlyn isn’t on the farm, she enjoys hiking with her partner and dog, nerding out over native plants and baking or cooking.
