The Savanna Institute hosted its Perennial Farm Gathering virtually from Wednesday, December 7th to Friday, December 9th, 2022. The only event in the Midwest of its kind, the Perennial Farm Gathering is a vital networking opportunity for people who practice perennial agriculture – a method of farming with diversified perennial cropping systems. This year, Ricardo Salvador from the Union of Concerned Scientists will deliver the keynote address “Perennial Dreams and Realities” reflecting on the potential of perennial agriculture to be a climate solution. The event is sponsored by Red Fern Farm, the USDA National Agroforestry Center, Propagate, The Nature Conservancy and Iroquois Valley Farmland REIT.
