This position will work to advance agroforestry by leading the Institute’s internal operations and providing administrative support to the Institute’s leadership. This position will work closely with the Associate Director and the Co-Executive Directors. This is a high-intensity position with lots of potential for growth. Key activities include: human resources, bookkeeping, grant management, purchasing & office management.
Agroforestry Technical Service Provider
This position will lead the efforts in southern Wisconsin to increase landowners’ engagement in Farm Bill programs; and improve the ability of local and state agencies, as well as Tribal Nations to deliver agroforestry technical support. This position will work closely with our Agroforestry Technical Service Provider in Illinois, Co-Executive Directors, and other Institute staff.
Farm Field Crew
This position will work to advance agroforestry by supporting the management of Savanna Institute demonstration farms and partner farms. Farms feature novel tree crop varieties in integrated agroforestry systems.This position will work closely with the IL Farm Manager, WI Farm Manager, other Savanna Institute staff, community partners, collaborating farmers/landowners, and farm visitors.
Farm Establishment Lead
This position will lead the expansion of the Savanna Institute’s Agroforestry Demonstration Farms in Illinois, with an emphasis on alley cropping, windbreaks, and riparian buffers. Work will also focus on setting up the business aspects and farm management capacity of this expanding team. This position will work closely with the Community Agroforester, Agroforestry Technical Service Providers, Co-Executive Directors, and other Institute staff.
